Swiss cuisine is heavily influenced by French, German and Northern Italian cuisines. Many traditional Swiss dishes are relatively simple and made with basic ingredients such as potatoes and Swiss cheese. According to the regions, the Swiss culture and therefore the dishes also differ. Famous Swiss dishes include: raclette and fondue (melted cheese served with bread or potatoes), riosti (fried grated potatoes), muesli (a breakfast dish with oats), and Zurich Geschnitzeltes. There are many regional dishes in Switzerland. Italian dishes such as pasta and pizza are popular throughout the modern country.
