modern music culture and "mainstream" and "underground"
Trying to determine the place of a particular musician or musical group in the space of modern musical culture, we often use the terms "mainstream" and "underground". Moreover, we often use these words arbitrarily, in the broadest sense, and the boundaries of these concepts are insufficiently defined by musicologists for the same very subjective reasons and differences in the worldview of music critics.
